We can help you stop your neck pain while avoiding the use of medications, injections, or surgery!
Do you have daily, nagging neck pain?
Are you dealing with neck discomfort or pain? Do you get headaches on a weekly or even daily basis? Does your neck feel stiff and sore when you wake-up in the morning?
Do you have pain and limited motion when you try to turn your head?
Do your headaches or your neck bother you throughout the day when you sit at your desk or search the web on your phone and you're always trying to massage the knots out of your neck or upper shoulders?
If you have you been told that neck pain is just a side effect of getting older and is something you need to learn to live with, then frankly you have been told wrong (too many of our patients have been told this).
If neck pain is keeping you from enjoying your daily activities or you’re worried that you’ll have to give up the sports you love due to neck pain that just won’t get better, then we're here to help because we KNOW necks and what it takes to get them back to full and painless function naturally.
Neck pain and headaches are very common and often easily treatable, but unfortunately, most people don’t receive good advice or quality treatment to help them recover, and the pain gets worse instead of better.
Most people decide to live with it for awhile to see if it will get better on its own. Eventually, when it’s still hanging around six months later, people will usually visit a physician who prescribes medication or injections or who wants to order an MRI. These things can be helpful in the short term, but they don't help with long-term recovery because they don't deal with the root problems.
Neck pain and headaches are one of the most common issues that we see in our physical therapy practice, and people are often very confused by the time they see us because they’ve heard so many different things about how to get rid of the pain, and none of them seem to have worked or made a lasting difference.
We’ve treated hundreds of people who suffer from minor to debilitating neck pain and headaches, and we’ve helped them get back to feeling comfortable turning their neck, exercising, sitting at work and just living their lives with minimal to no pain. We specialize in treating active people who don’t want to be slowed down by something as annoying as a painful neck. This does not have to be something you suffer with forever, and surgical interventions and injections are NOT the only options you have.
We’ve seen how frustrated our patients are when they’ve spent lots of time and money visiting different physicians and practitioners to receive expensive imaging and medications, all while still experiencing the same pain in their neck or head. It can be very confusing to know the best way to deal with your pain, especially when you hear different advice from different people. We listen to people’s stories every day about how they’re tired of bouncing from appointment to appointment with no real change or improvement in their daily life.
We know how to get you on the road to a quick recovery and teach you the lifelong skills to keep your neck strong and resilient. One of the best parts about our work is hearing from people who had been told that they would deal with chronic neck soreness or headaches indefinitely or that surgery was their only option for living a pain-free life when they’re back to their daily activities and sports after our treatment.
Most people's neck pain or chronic headache problem hangs around much longer than it needs to because it never received the proper diagnosis and treatment. It can be tempting to keep hoping that it'll get better with time, but most of the patients we see have been dealing with their pain for years, and it's NOT just your age, it's NOT a normal part of life, and it IS treatable.
If you’re tired of being slowed down by a nagging ache or sharp pain in your neck or head, then let’s talk.
We offer a free 20-minute phone consultation with one of our doctors of physical therapy for us to talk about your specific situation and so that you can ask us any questions you like. There is no obligation to book an appointment after the call— that is your decision. Our goal is to help you figure out your best next step in solving this problem.
Neck pain and headaches are one of the most common problems we see, and we want to tell you why people suffer longer than they should:
Things that make neck pain last longer:
1. Rest - people often rely on "giving it time" for their neck pain to just go away and they either avoid turning their head into the soreness or they keep popping pills hoping it will stop. They tell themselves that "maybe the next morning I'll wake up without having the neck pain..." but alas it's still there. At times rest can be helpful, but if the root causes are never dealt with, either it won't fully go away, you won't get your motion back, or it will keep re-occurring every few months and eventually, you'll realize the pain is now constant and getting worse.
2. Having treatment that is only dealing with the symptoms, and not the causes. There are great treatments out there but some often help only temporarily. When it comes to the neck and headaches, we often find that people are missing the right combination of skilled hands-on treatment addressing the restrictions in the neck, the upper and mid back and the postural and core strengthening of the neck. People are very familiar with the need to work on the core muscles in their back but for some reason, there is a neglect of proper core stabilization for the neck. Missing this key link can be what leads to temporary relief with other treatments.
3. Relying on medications or injections -- They can help with temporary inflammation flare-ups or numb the pain, but they definitely do NOT solve the problem and can mask the real issue. This can lead to further tightness and make the problem worse.
4. Hearing that you have arthritis or degenerative joint problems or disc bulges that can only be fixed by surgery or cannot be fixed at all and is something one just has to learn with ---- The vast majority of the time this is simply NOT true! People are told all the time to just deal with the pain until they’re ready to have another injection or surgery, and this is almost always just bad advice and will prolong the neck pain or prevent you from getting needed treatment.
We want to treat people who want to get to the root problem, not a quick fix—and that's what we do. We'll show you how to ease the pain so you can stay active, and this can be a straightforward and sometimes simple process.
